Verity: “Break Down The Walls” – Danceable value and Soulified Grit!
Brit artist Verity Rae Martin, better known as just ‘Verity’ has been on the live music scene for as long as she can remember. She has won her national critical acclaim from audiences all over the world, and she has performed at many prestigious events and venues. Her debut single ‘Lost in the Song’ produced by Laurence ‘Woo’ Allen (who has worked with artists such as Big Brovaz and Craig David) was released by Triumph Music Group in January 2012.
Coming together most recently with producer and song writer Alan Glass who has worked with artists such as Aretha Franklin, Earth Wind and Fire, Mis-Teeq and Liberty X, among others, bringing a new soulful dance sound which can be heard on the tracks “Break Down The Walls”, “Law Of Attraction” and “Love Free” set for release in 2017.
Awesome is an overused word for the most part, but in this case, it is the right one – quite perfect actually, especially when you listen to the evolution in Verity’s musical trajectory. To be honest, the girl has always been hot, and I mean that in every sense, but now she is totally on fire.
The new sound and tracks have set her inner musical soul free. She is digging deeper into her skillset and pulling out the core essence of her voice. It’s no longer just a beautiful shiny ornament to attach to a Top40 dance ditto.
Verity has extracted all the raw power and groove in her vocal chords and injected it with passion and confidence. This allows her to not just perfectly perform on her new soul-infused tracks, but to dominate them.
This is something she does with unbridled gusto on the upbeat House track, “Break Down The Walls”, a song Verity co-wrote with Alan Glass. If you’re looking for a record with tremendous danceable value, fantastic vocals, and plenty of soulified grit, this is exactly what you need.
This is a more mature Verity. The music is current, well written, edgy, excellently produced and different from the big room dance fare. It is less frigid and mechanical than the formulaic EDM stuff currently riding the charts.
As both Verity and Alan Glass have injected “Break Down The Walls” with that ‘real live energy’ found on vintage Soul, as well as Rhythm and Blues records at a time when divas could actually sing and not just shake their booties to Autotune!
