Ariel Currant: “We Are the Night” – an obscenely catchy track!

Currently signed to Chrome City Records, Ariel Currant joined the school choir in 8th grade. Two years later she took to the stage on her own, which further ignited her passion, and in 2013 Ariel released her EP entitled “A Beautiful Mess”. Now, after many performances and national anthem appearances, the singer-songwriter form Ankenny, Iowa, has released her brand new single, “We Are the Night”, co-written with Chris Coleman,  Marc Lotus and Scot Vanderpool.

Discussing the song’s creation Ariel explains: “While writing this song, I was at a point in my life where I felt like the world was at my fingertips. I could be whoever I wanted to be and do whatever I wanted to do without the constraints that come with being younger. I learned to think for myself and not base my opinions and decisions on what those around me thought to be right. I learned to really, truly think for myself. And over the past year and a half, I have found some truly amazing people to add to my life.  Because of all that, I became genuinely happier. And what do I like to do when I’m happy? I love to dance.”

Hence what we have with “We Are the Night”, is an upbeat EDM club banger. The feisty track is a testament to her brilliant songwriting and supernatural ability to sniff out a hook. It also reflects Ariel’s growth as an artist. The track has many overtly pop moments and the joyous rhythmic elements that shape much of the song’s backbone is clearly apparent on this earworm and that’s definitely part of its charm.

The Scot Vanderpool and Marc Lotus produced electro-bop has all the makings of a hit with that chorus, but it doesn’t overwhelm the rest of the song’s nuances. If anything, it’s a clear introduction that there are many other potential hit singles to come from Ariel Currant and this production team.

“We Are the Night” is an obscenely catchy track about just being yourself and being happy about it. The bouncy and self-empowering anthem strikes the perfect balance between pop (that chorus is lethal) and strong rhythmic-leaning beats.

It’s a song that will spend plenty of time bouncing around your brain…while you bounce around the room! Ariel imbues the song with a palpable sense of joyful euphoria that would be absent from anyone else’s version. Not only is Ariel Currant drop dead gorgeous, she can sing and make you dance too!
