G.H. Hat: “I Got a Problem (I Wonder…)” ft. Mickey Shiloh – his first vocal track

If you listen to electronic music, even if you don’t listen to what is colloquially dubbed as electro-soul or electro-funk, chances are that you’ve at least heard of it. These are sub-genre that are hard to label. They’re starting to receive a ton of mainstream attention, and already carry a legion of dedicated fans. With influences of rock, blues, hip-hop, soul, funk, disco and more, all intricately laced with thudding bass lines, cutting synths and blasting horns, electro-soul and electro-funk represent a medium in which the old and new collide. And for many fans, this collision does wonders on the ear drums.

Multi-genre composer and remixer, G.H. Hat takes these styles another step towards the pop sphere, as he moves his electronic wares into the vocal arena for the first time, with his latest track, “I Got a Problem (I Wonder…)” ft. Mickey Shiloh.

Michaela “Mickey” Shiloh is a multi-platinum songwriter and artist. She has worked with artists such as Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Shontelle, Britney Spears, Pitbull, Ray J and many others. At 17 she signed to Grammy Award-winning producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins and landed her first number one (on the Billboard Dance Charts) with Janet Jackson’s “Make Me”.

On “I Got a Problem (I Wonder…)”, Shiloh and G.H. Hat put their best feet forward on this song remixed into a 3-track set, as well as a 12-track set, made up of varied remixed electronic flavors.

When you enter into the realm of electronic music, whichever sub-genre you connect with most, every artist must be versatile. That is being able to easily alter their music within their respective style. One of many things that makes an artist successful is their ability to not produce the same thing repeatedly.
