CEO TreVo: “Lately” – seasoning every word with confidence and vigor

Tre’ Stone better known by his stage name CEO TreVo, is an upcoming American recording artist and entrepreneur from Memphis, Tn. He is currently signed to his own record label – Rack Game Monoply. His debut mixtape “Straight2DaRacks” is set to release in the latter part of 2018. From the opening second of his single “Lately” Prod. By Retro x Lrdaproducer, you can tell he’s determined to make a grand entrance. For most fans of the genre, a rapper like CEO TreVo is a sure shot top 10 artist. He has put out a quality production highlighting your everyday topics like dope, money and sex. Although those topics are common in his field, CEO TreVo separates himself from the rest with his gritty delivery and convincing presence on the microphone.

Not surprisingly CEO TreVo shows signs of true talent on this output, linking free-flowing rhymes to exceptional production. He confidently shows that he can keep up — no, he can even outmatch — quite a few of his peers. If you haven’t heard of this dude yet, it’s really not your fault.

He is one of the exciting new artists coming up, so I fell into the same trap of ignorance. As an independent artist— without the politics and drama of a major label — CEO TreVo can fully achieve the potential people may see in him. It may just take a little longer to move all around the table, without the industry shortcuts on offer by the major media players.

CEO TreVo packs his jams with sounds that can turn your speakers into absolute monsters. In this record, the rapper wakes up your car’s subwoofer, making the ground shake with its powerful slow motion rumble.

Where “Lately” Prod. By Retro x Lrdaproducer stands apart from the rest of the crowd though, is in the fleshing out of the gravy-smothered goodness of his delivery, adding those little rhyming flourishes that usually transform rote song building into works of actual interest that will stand the test of time, regardless of the song’s topic.

At initial listen, his thick, authentic delivery supersedes many of the elements in the music. Once you get pass that, recognize his prowess. His lyrics are clever, a bit explicit, yet clearly stated, and he is never scared to speak its mind, seasoning every word with confidence and vigor.

This is a rapper who can play in moody, introspective territory without sounding banal, mostly because he is expressive and layered as a performer. CEO TreVo sounds super focused.
